Review of Eve and Adam by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant

I told you I would read and review the books I found at Comic and this of course was the first one I devoured. I was a huge Animorphs fan as a kid and the fact that the same author co-wrote Eve and Adam made it all that much more interesting to me.

Eve and AdamBack Cover Blurb: In the beginning, there was an apple –

And then there was a car crash, a horrible injury, and a hospital. But before Evening Spiker’s head clears a strange boy named Solo is rushing her to her mother’s research facility. There, under the best care available, Eve is left alone to heal.

Just when Eve thinks she will die – not from her injuries, but from boredom—her mother gives her a special project: Create the perfect boy.

Using an amazingly detailed simulation, Eve starts building a boy from the ground up. Eve is creating Adam. And he will be just perfect . . . won’t he? -TAKEN FROM AMAZON

Basic plot line: Eve is in a horrible accident. Miracle she didn’t die or lose limbs type of accident. Now, enter very powerful, very rich mother who takes her out of the hospital and brings her to her research facility. Eve goes through a complete recovery, meets a boy named Solo who we find out wants to shut her mother down, plays with a “computer program” to design the perfect boy, finds out the horrible things her mother’s company is doing and takes off under hot pursuit. What about Adam you ask? Well, let’s just say the computer program makes an entrance.

How long it took to read: This is a full lengths novel…but I couldn’t put it down. AMAZING read that took me two days to get through.

Characters:  Eve is smart. She is also a smart ass.  She has an attitude that is the perfect balance of likeable and tough. Her best friend got on my nerves. Solo, the boy of interest, is also smart. SUPER smart. He is sneaky and clever. I like him a lot. And Adam? Well, he was designed to be perfect…
